Eastern Ring Necked Snake Info

Habitat: Ring necked snakes are nocturnal and a very secretive and are not seen very often since they like to live their lives in rotten wood, under rock’s, or under whatever they find. They like moist wooded areas and are usually found in spring or in late summer through mid fall. They will breed in fall and have live young.

 Discription: They are very small reaching a little bit longer than a foot. They have a yellow stomach with black dot aligned down the center, they have a black head with grey to light blue body and have a yellow ring on their neck.

Food Habits: Their food habits are slugs, worms, or other small things, they are rear fanged but are harmless to people but it helps them kill their prey quicker.

Aggressiveness: They are harmless to people and and rarelly bite.
